Me and Sam

My name is Allan Colley. I was born in November 1960, the first of four children found under a stone by Allan and Jean (Charlesworth) Colley.

I'm married to Susan (Bennett)  and we have two children called Nick and Sam .

Three reasons for going to work everyday.

I left Ashleigh School in 1977 and then worked at Hadfields as an apprentice electrician until 1981. Jumping on the ISERBS bandwagon, I studied electronics at Granville College until Dec 1982. Armed with my new found  qualifications and enthusiasm for life, I ventured forth into the big city and joined the dole queue. Thanks Maggie!

It was a long queue with a few short drop offs on the way in the form of 'community programs' and security work but in 1985 I landed a damn fine job at Richmond College as the 'Handyman' mainly doing carpentry in the workshops. Lucky I'd studied electronics then!

In 1988 I transferred to the new Norton College, on the former Rowlinson School site, as an AVA (Resources) Technician. I then studied TV repair at Loxley College, which came in really handy (not!) for my present position,  Media - Photography Technician, still at Norton.

I thought for this section I would reminisce about the things I hold dear, the places I've been to, lived in, worked at, got drunk in, etc.

Or whatever springs to mind!
