On the 21^st Sept 1914, 28 year old Harry Bramhall, (among many, many others) enlisted into the armed forces at Sheffield. He became Private 2347 of the 4^thBattalion York & Lancs regiment, signing up for four years to the Territorial Forces. He had previously served with the 3^rd Battalion York & Lancs for two years.
