Sydney Colley 1931

My Grandfather Sydney Colley was born on December 17^th 1901 at 53 Ball Street, Sheffield. He was the second of five children born to Harry and Edith Annie  (nee Armitage).

Between 1905 and 1917 the family lived at 25 Warwick Street in Walkley. His father Harry was killed in battle in 1915, when Sid was 13, and around 1917/18, widow Edith moved the family to 52 Eldon Street, Sheffield. 

Violet Colley 1931

On December 26^th 1929, Sydney married Violet Cambell, one of nine children born to Arthur and Isobel Mary Cambell (nee Wright).

They had five children, Eric, Edith (b.1931), Irene (b.1933) and twins Allan (my father) and Colin. They lived at 119 Carlisle Street, until 1936.
